PRIMARY LEVEL PREFECTS FOR AY 2023-2024 TAKE OATH

Bina Bangsa School PIKP beamed with pride as they celebrated the investiture of their prefects on 9 October, 2023. Twenty-four students from P4 to P6 stood on stage to take an oath, pledging to perform their duties as prefects with dedication, integrity and sincerity.

The investiture ceremony aims to instill leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility in the students. It marks the beginning of a journey for the primary level prefects, who will now be entrusted with various duties and tasks. As prefects, they are expected to uphold the school values and play a vital role in maintaining discipline among their fellow students and helping their teachers foster a positive learning environment.

Dressed in their batik uniforms, the newly installed prefects proudly received their badges and neckties from Ms Linawati Lauw (Principal), Ms Alice Rufes (Vice Principal for Academics) and Ms Mary Anne Villa (Vice Principal for Student Development).

The badges and neckties bestowed upon the prefects are tangible representations of the trust and expectations placed on the young shoulders of these budding leaders.

Raymond Chen, a P6 Attentiveness student who had been appointed as Head Prefect, stepped up to the podium and confidently delivered an inspiring speech. He promised to lead all the prefects in making the school ‘a better place.’

“Becoming the head prefect is not just a title. It is a commitment to serve the school to the best of your ability… I am determined to lead by example by demonstrating respect, kindness and inclusivity to every student and faculty member,” Raymond stated.

Raymond said he aims to help create an environment ‘where every voice is heard, where everyone is valued and where everyone feels a sense of belonging.’

According to Mr Terence Joe Balaoing, Discipline Master, these 24 students had gone through a thorough selection process and had been chosen as prefects for this academic year due to the outstanding leadership qualities they had demonstrated.
