Unlocking the Future: P5, P6 Students Excel and Innovate through iPad Learning Workshop
Considered to be the first-ever tech-educational triumph in the history of Binabangsa School Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), the Student Tech Leadership Camp held on 7-8 September 2023 took the students on a transformative journey towards blending technology with education as they learnt various applications of the Apple’s iPad tablet.
The Camp was participated in by all P5 and P6 classes consisting of 178 students, marking a promising start for the school’s goal in transforming into an educational institution that adopts a technology-intensive approach to teaching and learning, with a particular focus on using the iPad as a central tool for instruction and student engagement.
One significant highlight of the Camp was the role of student tech leaders. These students had been given the opportunity to join a student leadership camp earlier; thus taking the active role of mentors where they shared the knowledge and skills they had acquired with fellow students.
During the two-day event, the students learnt essential skills in applications like Pages, Freeform, Keynote and iMovie. The school believes that these apps are not just tools; they are vehicles for students to express their ideas, collaborate with peers and prepare for a future where digital literacy and multimedia skills are indispensable.
The school expresses its thanks to Mr Jerick and Ms Rhea, both P5 and P6 teachers, for their exceptional effort in facilitating the Student Tech Leadership Camp this year.
